Product descriptions in Polish, for shops selling into Poland
A Polish shop running on descriptions translated from English gives itself away: the units are right and the sentences aren’t. I write product and category descriptions in Polish from your English data, in batches of ten or more, starting with a paid sample of three.
from €15 excl. VAT per description · sample usually in 3 working days

Lipowy. Pachnie jak lipiec pod lipą.
In English: Linden. Smells like July under a linden tree.

Translated copy gives itself away
Translated product copy is usually accurate. It’s also easy to spot: English word order, "idealny dla" ("perfect for") in every other line, and product names that sit awkwardly in a Polish sentence. That last one happens because Polish nouns change their endings and nobody decided how yours should behave. Each of these is small, but a shop repeats them hundreds of times.
Three first
Data.
Send the product sheet with specs, in English or Polish, plus two or three Polish shops whose product pages you like. Your competitors’ pages count too.
Sample: three descriptions.
You pick the products: ideally one simple, one typical and one awkward. Usually 3 working days. Each comes with a short English note on the choices behind it.
Tone.
One round of comments on the sample. We settle length, layout, formal or informal address, how your product names behave in a Polish sentence, and what gets bold. That becomes the pattern for the batch.
The batch.
About 20 descriptions a week, delivered in parts so you can upload as you go.
One round on the whole batch,
then the final file.
The sample is charged at the list price (3 × €15 = €45) and counted towards the batch, so you don’t pay for those three twice. It’s the one order allowed under the €60 minimum. If you stop after the sample, you pay for the sample only.
What goes into your shop
- a CSV or XLSX file with your shop’s columns: SKU, name, short and long description, meta title and description
- simple HTML (paragraphs, lists, bold) if your platform takes descriptions that way
- a "missing" column for specs your data didn’t include
- the pattern from the sample, written up so new products can follow it without me
Three kinds of description
| Type | Length | What it covers | Price excl. VAT |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | up to 1,000 characters (about 150 words) | short intro, key features, who it’s for | €15 each |
| Extended | up to 2,500 characters | standard, plus a specs table, a keyword, and a meta title and description | €29 each |
| Category | up to 2,000 characters | text above or below the product grid, subheadings, links to subcategories | €36 each |
Written in English instead: €20, €40 and €50 each. Minimum batch of ten. You can mix types.
The sample usually takes 3 working days, then about 20 descriptions a week. One revision round on the sample and one on the whole batch.
Included
- an import-ready file, the pattern agreed on the sample, English notes on the sample, and the economic rights to the copy, which pass to you once it’s paid in full
Costs more if
- the products are technical and mean reading documentation
- specs are scattered across several sources
- you need two versions, one for your shop and one for a marketplace
- you need it in a rush (+50%, if the calendar allows)
- you want an extra revision round (15% of the price, min. €60)
Not included
- photos
- uploading to your shop
- adapting your existing descriptions (that’s transcreation)
- keyword research across the whole shop
- specs missing from your data

From jar label to product page
An invented family apiary: the brief, a jar label in two versions and shop descriptions for two of its honeys. One voice, from a few centimetres of paper to a full product page. A sample, not client work.

Gryczany. Ciemny, gorzkawy, nie dla każdego.
In English: Buckwheat. Dark, a bit bitter, not for everyone.

Questions from shop owners
Our product data is only in English. Is that enough?
Yes. English specs, your English descriptions and your brand guidelines are all fine to work from. What I can’t work from is data that isn’t there. If a material, dimension or care instruction is missing, it goes in the "missing" column instead of being guessed.
Do you write for Allegro?
Yes, as long as I know before the sample. Allegro has its own description editor and its own rules on what a description may contain. If you sell in your own shop and on Allegro, two versions of the same product are quoted as two.
Can our global brand voice survive in Polish?
Mostly. Send your brand guidelines and a few English descriptions you’re happy with. Some things carry over directly. A playful English pun rarely does, so it gets replaced with something that works in Polish rather than explained. The sample is where you see which is which.
Which shop platforms can you deliver for?
Anything that imports a spreadsheet: Shopify, Shopware, WooCommerce, Magento, or Polish platforms such as Shoper and IdoSell. Send an export with a few rows and the descriptions come back in the same columns.
What about health or cosmetic claims?
I stick to what your documentation supports and flag anything that reads like a claim needing proof. Whether a description meets Polish and EU rules for supplements, cosmetics or food is the seller’s responsibility, ideally checked with a local adviser.
Pick three products for the sample
Tell me roughly how many products you have, where you sell in Poland, and which three you’d like to see first. I usually reply within 2 working days (Mon–Fri, CET).
