Polish website copy, briefed in English
Your site works in English. Now it has to work for people in Poland, and your agency has just asked who’s writing the Polish. That’s me: every page written in Polish from the start, with the brief, the call and the comments all in English.
€690 excl. VAT for 5 pages · usually 10 working days

Chleb na zakwasie. Pieczony nocą.

What’s in the file
An excerpt from a sample file for an invented bike workshop. The Polish is what goes on the site. The grey English line under each block is there so your team knows what they’re approving.
PRZEGLĄD PRZED SEZONEM · strona 3 z 5 · sekcja 1 z 4
Site map. Your designer knows how many sections to draw before reading a word.
H1: Przegląd roweru przed sezonem
Pre-season bike check
Headings marked H1–H3.
Sprawdzamy hamulce, napęd i koła. Wymieniamy tylko to, co naprawdę trzeba…
We check brakes, drivetrain and wheels. We only replace what actually needs it…
Short paragraphs. Most people will read this on a phone.
PRZYCISK: Umów przegląd
Button: Book a check
Polish buttons name the action. A literal “Learn more” is the tell of a translated site.

How a Polish site gets written
You send the English site and a brief.
I read the whole current site, plus two or three Polish competitors if you can name them. If you can’t, I’ll find some and tell you which.
Call.
We go through what Polish buyers ask before they buy. It’s rarely the same list as at home.
Site map for sign-off.
Sometimes the Polish site needs a page yours doesn’t have, delivery and payment or company details for example. We settle that here.
First draft, usually within 10 working days,
with the English gloss.
Your comments in one document,
second draft, final file.
One worked sample
The samples page has an invented craft bakery: a three-line brief, the top of its home page and the line on the awning over its door. It’s a sample, not client work.

Do wyczerpania zakwasu.
In English: While the sourdough lasts.

Questions about Polish website copy
Can you work from our English site instead of a Polish brief?
Yes, that’s the usual starting point. But I don’t translate it page by page. The offer stays the same; the order, the examples and sometimes whole sections change, because Polish buyers ask different questions first.
Formal or informal Polish – “Ty” or “Państwo”?
Polish makes you choose, and English doesn’t warn you. Plenty of consumer brands say “Ty”; many law firms, banks and B2B suppliers stick with “Państwo”. I’ll recommend one after the brief, explain why, and keep it the same on every page, button and error message.
Who puts the copy into our CMS?
Your team, or the agency building the site. I don’t log in to CMSs. If you send a staging link in round two, I’ll check that headings and buttons landed in the right places and that nothing was cut to fit, and add what I find to my comments.
What about checkout text, cookie banners and legal pages?
Checkout and form text is microcopy, a separate job. Terms, privacy and cookie wording should come from a lawyer who knows Polish consumer law; I don’t write those.
Do you handle Polish SEO?
Every page gets a Polish meta title and description, a clean heading structure and the phrases people in Poland actually type. If your SEO team has Polish keyword research, send it and I’ll work it in. Rankings I can’t promise; too much besides the copy decides them.
A link to your English site is a good start.
Add roughly how many pages the Polish one needs. I usually reply within 2 working days (Mon–Fri, CET).
